We are going to learn about operating system called Microsoft window 7.
Windows help us to do the various things on computer like playing games, watching videos , and doing homework.
Windows 7 operating system
To start windows 7 operating system on our computer you need to follow certain steps.
These steps help to boot the windows operating system.
Step 1: switch on the cup.
Step 2: switch on the monitor.
Step 3: 'Loading windows' message will appear on the screen.
Step 4: system boots up and we see a windows desktop.
The icons which we see on the desktop are called desktop icons.
These are located usually on the left of the computer screen.
By default, there are my computer, recycle bin icons on the desktop.
Let's explore desktop more:
This is the main screen of your windows 7 operating system.
Taskbar
Taskbar is located at the bottom of the computer screen.
When we open any windows program, it appears on the taskbar as a small icon.
Start button
Start button is located at the left Corner of the screen. This is the main button of the windows 7 operating system. It is the starting point in windows from were we can navigate various windows programs.
System tray
This is the small area were the system date and time are displayed along with some other system tray icons.
For example - windows defender.
Quick launch Toole bar
It is located next to the start button in the taskbar. It has shortcuts to some programs used frequently. Eg- internet explorer, file explorer.
Let's change desktop background image
Step 1: Right click on the desktop.
Step 2: click on "personalize" from the dropdown menu.
Step 3: It will open another window which has multiple images options.
Step 4 : you can choose from images to set it as your desktop background image.
Step 5: select the image you like to keep as your desktop background and click on the "save changes" button to save it.
